Poway Equestrian Center is proud to offer elite educational services for riders of every level and experience. Our riding school offers lessons to all levels of riders, and our private training service prepares riders for competitions of all levels. Our riding lessons range from Beginner Riding, Dressage, Hunter/Jumper, and Reining.
We offer private, semi-private, and group lessons for adults and children of all skill levels. Our trainers are some of the best available trainers in the San Diego area, and have decades of equine experience.
Charlotte Sargent is both a hunter/jumper and dressage instructor who loves sharing her passion for horses with others. She rode her first horse at the age of three, and started an eventing career as a young teenager. Charlotte trained with some of the top eventing coaches on the east coast and rose through the ranks of Pony Club before moving out west to start her teaching and training career. With over 25 years of equine knowledge and experience both in and out of the show ring, Charlotte enjoys working with people and horses of all ages and experience levels. Monica has been training Reiners and Cow Horses in Southern California since 1995. Her accomplishments range from 5th in the NRHA World in 1998 to top 10 finishes in the 2014 AQHA Novice Am. Championship Show & AQHA World Show by her students! Most current Monica was 5th Nationally in AQHA Sr. Reining in 2017. Monica is also a NRHA carded Judge. Since our start in 1997, we’ve treated every customer like they were a part of our family. Julie has been an avid horsewomen all of her life. Her focus is coaching riders in the discipline of Dressage; from Beginners to Intermediate, working with riders 12 years of age and up. For Julie’s clients it’s all about learning and having fun, all in the best interest of the horse and rider.
